Gozo’s fascinating history can be seen everywhere. The Neolithic Ġgantija Temple complex is older than Stonehenge. And the high ramparts of Victoria’s Citadella attest to the times when our island was ruled by the Knights of Malta.
Most visitors develop a taste for our local Gozitan cuisine and we can’t blame them. Our fresh produce is bursting with Mediterranean flavour and our local dishes represent a unique blend of African, Sicilian and French influences – reflecting our island’s rich history.
Most people on Gozo still follow a traditional way of life and are extremely welcoming towards visitors. Each of Gozo’s villages and the capital Victoria have something special to offer the visitor and we recommend you take time to explore them.
